Microsoft Purview Sensitivity Labels: Sensitivity label grouping modernization coming this fall (?)

There is a change coming to Microsoft Purview Information Protection that simplifies sensitivity label architecture. The goal is to make label management easier, more scalable, and less rigid for organizations. The new model will only include standalone labels and sublabels. Parent labels will be replaced by label groups, which act as organizational containers. The end of 2013 editions

Here is a reminder for those of you who are still on Microsoft Lync 2013 Server out there.

Last week marked the end of the mainstream support for Lync 2013 related products.  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=Microsoft%20Lync%202013

Thinking about it, this is not just a reminder for those using Lync 2013, All office 2013 server products went out of mainstream support at the same time, including:

  • Lync 2013 server
  • Exchange 2013
  • Sharepoint 2013
Ending mainstream support doesn't mean the product will stop working, or that security issues won't get fixed. But it does mean there will be no more functionality improvements, and non-security updates (hotfixes) requires a hotfix support agreement. MS FAQ

I would recommend everyone to upgrade to a supported version the sooner the better.
