Microsoft Purview Sensitivity Labels: Sensitivity label grouping modernization coming this fall (?)

There is a change coming to Microsoft Purview Information Protection that simplifies sensitivity label architecture. The goal is to make label management easier, more scalable, and less rigid for organizations. The new model will only include standalone labels and sublabels. Parent labels will be replaced by label groups, which act as organizational containers. These groups cannot be applied to content and have no actions or scope, but they retain color and priority for visual organization. Hopefully, this change will make it much easier to move labels around and make other changes in production: for example, converting a standalone label into a sublabel or moving sublabels between groups without breaking dependencies.  From my experience, this update solves one of the biggest challenges in large environments: rigid label hierarchies. Two upcoming Viva and Copilot updates

Microsoft Viva Pulse will be in included with Microsoft 365 Copilot Subscription

This feature previously only allowed users with a Viva Pulse premium license could create and send Pulse requests using out-of-the-box content and templates provided by their tenant’s Pulse administrators. But with this change, users with either a Pulse license or a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can now create and send Pulse requests.
Responding to Pulse requests does not require a license, though a premium license is needed for full access to research-backed templates and customization capabilities.

This is a feature that allows leaders to send brief surveys to gather real-time feedback on Copilot implementation, helping to quickly identify and address challenges.

The rollout will occur automatically with features enabled by default, requiring no admin action before the rollout. For more information on Viva Pulse capabilities, visit Microsoft Learn

For more details, refer to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 407706.

Microsoft 365 Copilot to Access Viva Engage Content

Microsoft 365 Copilot will soon be able to access question posts in Microsoft Viva Engage public communities, including Answers. This enhancement will enable Copilot to provide more relevant responses to users' inquiries on both web and iOS/Android platforms. Note that a Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature. The feature will be on by default.

According to the Roadmap ID 408166, this feature should start rolling out any day now and be complete by the end of January 2025.
