Sharing your Copilot notebooks - Is being rolled out

Microsoft is rolling a new update to Copilot Notebooks that make collaboration even easier: the ability to share Copilot Notebooks with your colleagues.  Personally, I like Notebooks because they feel almost like small, personal agents I don’t have to configure. They give me a safe space to collect notes and documents and then work on them over time. With this update, that personal space can become a shared space for a selected group of  colleagues, without compromising security or permissions. I think it is also important to note that your chat and chat history within the Notebook stays private. The web rollout began in late October and will finish by December, while mobile access starts in early November and are related to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap ( ID 506851 )  You can also read more about the Copilot Notebooks experience on the Microsoft website here . Changes coming to the Viva Insights licenses and requirements.

Microsoft is going to include Viva Insights service plans in Microsoft 365 Copilot and it will be applicable to Viva Insights on the web, Viva Insights in Microsoft Teams for Windows desktop, and Viva Insights in Microsoft Teams for iOS/Android.

Some of the changes includes new service plans for Viva Insights, included under Microsoft 365 Copilot subscriptions, making all premium features and capabilities of Viva Insights available to Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed customers. Additionally, the minimum assigned Viva Insights license thresholds for new tenants will increase from 10 to 50 to access the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard, advanced insights, and organizational insights.

The cohort analysis feature between Copilot and non-Copilot users in the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard will be retired as it is today, but still be available in advanced insights.

To fully benefit from this update, organizations should ensure they have the necessary Microsoft 365 Copilot and Viva Insights licenses. Specifically, a minimum of 50 assigned Viva Insights service plans will be required for new tenants to access advanced insights, organizational insights, and the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard. Existing customers with access to these features will not be affected by the new license threshold.

Organizations can create exclusion lists from the Copilot Dashboard if there are users who should not be included for various reasons. To exclude a user from Viva Insights all together, unassign any Viva Insights service plan from that user.

The rollout is currently planned to begin in mid-March 2025 and is expected to be completed by late April 2025. Organizations should review their current configurations and notify users about this change. Data processing for newly licensed users will begin in early April 2025.
