Microsoft has announced the availability of Lync2013 Mobile for Android tablets in an upcoming release. But it is not here yet.
Until it is, I will try to update my original post: http://tech.rundtomrundt.com/2013/04/making-lync-2013-work-on-your-android.html with updates as they are published (for the phone, but usable on tablets).
The March 2014 update is now available through my post. I have tested it myself
